Computer performance has suddenly decreased

V

I am going to try and describe this problem the best that I can

- I have a Fujitsu Centrino (1.6GHz) Laptop with 1 GB RAM and a 60 BG
HDD
- Suddenly my computer performance seems to have decreased. The symptom
is that audio and video playback freezes briefly whenever there is a
burst in CPU usage. So whenever I laung an app or do anything that
increased CPU usage, the audio or video starts freezing up and playing
in jerks. This has NEVER happened before and I haven't installed any new
software or changed my hardware config.
- I bought norton system works 2006 and no problems were detected.

Any ideas?

It's possible you have spyware. Do you have a scanner for that? If not,
AdAware, Spybot - Search and Destroy, and Microsoft AntiSpyware are three
good programs to use... and the best part is, all three are free to download
and use.
