Product number?, serial number?, part number, IP number, number of the
beast (that's easy it is 666) what particular number are you after?

it's all zeros and ones - you just have to arrange them in the right order

Where do I go to find out what my computer number is? Thanks

The number I wanted was the one that other people see, eg: when you get a
message when surfing that your computer number is......... I'm not after
smart answers. I seem to remember that it started with 60. I have gone to
my computer/properties/general and the number is different. I'm sorry if
I'm not as smart as some of your contributers but I am Australian and a
senior!!!!

It's number 2125.

What "other people"?
When surfing...where?
What "message" are you talking about?

No psychics here, mate.

If it is your IP address you want then go to this link:-

If your computer is directly connected to your modem (ie. not using a
router), open a command prompt window and type:
ipconfig /all
then hit enter.

If you're using a router, go into its setup and control and look for a
Status page.

Once you are connected to your ISP and have access to the internet go
to Start, Programs, Accessories and click on Command Prompt, when this
comes up type in ipconfig/all, you will then get your IP address. You
should realise that this IP number will probably change each time you
log in to your ISP as most ISP give dynamic rather than static
addresses IE they reuse the limited number of IP addresses that have
allocated to them so everyone gets a go. If the IP addresses are all in
use you will be unable to access your ISP.

Thanks for your link RonK that's exactly what I meant. I'll remember in
future.

I'm guessing your computer number is 7, but I am not sure.

In all seriousness, what "computer number" are you talking about?

Unless you have a static IP, your IP address will change all the time.

If you are not sure if you have a static IP address or not, then you most
likely do not. You will have to contact your ISP to find out.
