Basically I want to change my computers name so that my name appears on the
shared folders in my offices network places folder. I have changed the user
name however all new folders i create still are seen by others on their
computers in the shared files as Kelly. I have tried everything Microsoft
Offices website has suggested however Kelly still remains my computers name!
Any suggestions would be appreciated and my computer runs on an XP program.

You have posted this to a newsgroup related to Microsoft Access, the
database application. Your question appears to be related to MS Windows, My
Computer, Settings, etc. Please repost to a more appropriate newsgroup and
I'm sure you will get a pretty quick response.

A little patience is needed when asking questions in a newsgroup.
You posted the same request 10 minutes ago.

This newsgroup is for questions about Microsoft Access, a relational
database program. You would do better to ask this question in a Windows
newsgroup. When you post there, be sure to include some information about
what exactly you have tried. "Everything" is too all-encompassing to be
useful.

Having said this, have you tried Start > Control Panel > System > Computer
Name? Do you have appropriate permissions to make the desired change?
