Computer has started to beep, short beeps, which continue until shutdown, it
doesn't effect what I'm doing.
So I shut down, and on re-boot it starts again.

What could this be?

Are the beeps playing through your speakers or through the speaker
inside your computer case?

From the computer case.

You have a hardware problem. Check with the manufacturer of your
system to translates what the beeps mean.

Normally, beeps appear when you first turn on the computer. I have no
idea what they mean when the computer is already running and you're in
Windows.

There are a number of reasons for beeps and you should investigate ASAP, some software will monitor your temperatures and beep if it goes above a set level, I suspect this is the case with your machine, If you have not installed software for this it may be working through the BIOS settings, If you have had the computer for a number of monthes then it could be time to get inside the case and do some spring cleaning, You will be surprised how much dust and fluff can work its way inside there.
