computer icons in network places that do not exist

I have a network of 4 computers all using xp pro. I changed the computer
and network names on the computers now i have 6 computers showing in my
network. two of the computers are the old names and i can not delete
them or hide them. Any suggestions?

Rob,

The non-existent computers will go away on their own. Eventually.

If you can't wait for eventually, you can speed up the process, by rebooting the
master browser in your LAN. That's probably the computer that has been online
the longest.

If that doesn't help, identify the master browser by using browstat.

You can download Browstat from:
<http://www.dynawell.com/reskit/microsoft/win2000/browstat.zip>

Browstat is very small (40K), needs no install, and runs from the command
prompt. Just drop it onto a couple workstations, and run it.
