Computer Hangs After instalation Of SP2

I. I have installed the SP2 in my windows XP but after the reboot of the
system my computer just hangs. I already tried to boot into security mode but
he hangs too. No option of the boot selection screen F8 seems to boot my
computer. I have to re-format my hard-drive and install everything back. Now
i want to know how do i install into my Windows XP SP1 the Service Pack 2
without hanging. I have already tried to just install the Windows without
everything (Programs and Drivers) and install the SP2 after but he hangs too.
