Hi all

Any help would be really appreciated. Heres the story

have abit kv7 mo board. Up until march had xp2000+ and 1gb of 2700
memory running a 9800 pro card. All standard no overclocking.

Beginning of March bought upgrade of xp3200+ retail and 1gb of 3200
ram 2x512mb modules. I also upgraded psu to cover the new demands.
Since then the nightmare has began. I did have a pcbug doctor issue
and had to format everything and start clean.

Computer resets itself when doing anything more than internet. When
try to play games when get a bit of stability, the screen freezes,
sometimes able to get back to windows mostly the monitor goes off and
have to reset machine. Have flashed bios today and no better. I can
take one memory stick out and doesnt seem to make any difference when
bios set to proper settings

Only stability seems to be setting bios to optimized defaults, this
results in cpu being only xp1100+.

HELP ME!!!!

HELP ME!!!!

Have you tried running the AGP at 4x? This worked for me with my 9600XT
based card when I had the exact same problems. This is just off the top
of my head without really scrutinising your post.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

PS- use the ATI configuration utility (right click desktop -> properties
-> settings -> advanced -> smartgart) to set the AGP to 4x and then reboot.

Did you keep the original memory stick installed when you added the new
sticks? If so, are your new memory sticks matched and the same brand as the
original stick? Try leaving in the original stick while removing the new
sticks and leave your CPU BIOS settings as is, and see if that helps. On the
other hand, if you had removed your original stick when you added the new
sticks, remove the new sticks and re-install the original stick, then see if
that helps. Also, perhaps your motherboard is just not suitable for that
speed. Check the mobo specs.
