computer froze

was closing out a program and computer froze, used ctrl,alt,delete that
didn't work. restarted computer with power button, it restarted and got
through the xp logo and then all i got was a black screen. if anyone has an
idea what it may be
help will be very appreciated. thanks for your time Robie
