Computer freezing after service Pack 2 Installed

I installed service pack two, and now my computer keeps freezing. The only
way thing I can do is unplug it. Does anyone know how to repair this?

After a little more research (and help from a friend) I believe the problem
is in the power management. Does anyone know how to uninstall the microsoft
power option software
