Computer freezes

Several times while using the computer, it "freezes up". I have to do
Conrol, Alt, Delete to get going again. Several times after closing certain
applications, the message: "The instruction at "0x729133b1" referenced menory
at "0x629133b1".
The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program."

What do I need to do to eliminate this problem?
