Hello,

Lately I've been having a problem with my computer basically stopping.
Usually it happens when I use Windows explorer or Power Desk 6.0.

Once I open either of those programs and try to arrow down a file list,
it will stop and the hour glass will come up. It then stays up. I
can no longer do anything. I can't cntrl-alt-delete or open any other
programs. I have to do a hard shut down and then restart. This problem
does not occur every time I use those program, only about 50% of the time.

Suggestions please?

Thanks,

Steve

if powerdesk is the trial/freeware version, i would uninstall it......
Clearly, it is conflicting with your functionality and it is also adware
based.....

Hi and thanks for the reply. I have the paid version of PowerDesk.
I've been in contact with their tech support and did an uninstall
and update reinstall, but still no joy. I've used PowerDesk in
its various versions for a long time with no previous problems.

ok.., so my question would be "Do you or would you still have the problem if
it were not installed?" Just a theoritical question....

(hmm?, indexing is a feature that runs with the explorer, if enabled.
Possibly you should disable it. Ensure the "service" is disabled and see if
this helps your PD. Try enabling if it was disabled already, n see what
happens....)

Thanks for the reply. Indexing was stopped. I started it and set it to
automatically start. I'll see what happens.

Thanks again,

Steve
