There's no single cause for freezes. It can actually be one
of many different things that give you problems, including
but not limited to faulty hardware.
Some things to consider for debugging your problem.
1) Did it always do this? If not what have you changed
recently?
2) Do you have enough RAM memory? Ctl-Alt-Delete
->Taskmanager->Performance, to find out how much
memory is remaining.
3) Update your drivers for all your hardware (especially
videocard) to the newest versions.
In reality one of these may help or none of them will, as
system freeze ups can be caused by so many things. What
you really need to do is to try and track the problem more
thoroughly. For example, do certain tasks almost always
cause a freeze up? If so you can search the newsgroup
for issues regarding those tasks in particular.
