computer enters sleep mode randomly

Hi - with all power savings modes switched off, my PC sometimes shuts down
while I am using it. It says "entering sleep mode", but actually shuts down.
After a minute I can turn it on again.

Is this s VISTA bug - anything I can do about it?

Thanks,

Chris

You might be using a wireless keyboard, and/or mouse, and the Power setting
for 'allow computer to turn off this device' might be checked in the device
manager, device properties, power management tab. Perhaps some other device,
USB HUB, or whatever. It would be hard to guess from the info supplied.

In addition to what BITSISBAD said, there are some other options.

You should make sure that the battery in you wireless mouse if good and all
contacts are in proper order. Sometimes sparks you don't even see may send
erratic messages to the system.

Thanks for the replies but I am not wireless at all.

The problem happened the day I bought the computer and has been going on for
a year now. Really annoying as the customer support here is useless (small
island in Greece) and no-one seems to know why it's happening.

Any other ideas? To re-cap, the computer and monitor suddenly and randomly
shut down, with the final message "Entering sleep mode". I have to wait
exactly 1 minute before I can start up again.

Thanks for any help,

Chris
