computer display on screen is upside down. HELP!

i put a cd in my computer and ran the programme, eveything was going fine then suddenly my screen froze and went a funny colour i.e the resolution changed dramatically. neways after much difficulty i managed to shut the programme down and take the CD out. but my screen was upside down. so then i restarted my comp again and again but the screen display is upside down! everything now works fine, in the sense that i can open all applications and i managed to change the resolution of the screen back to normal but everything i see on the screen is upside down. i even have to read upside down! i even unplugged my monitor and plugged it in again but still no difference. i have windows XP on my computer. at the moment i am using my brother's computer as i cant really use mine.

is the sort of thing normal? i mean has this ever happened to anyone? i dont think its a virus as i used my virus scann and it detected no viruses. just one file that was corrupted and 26 others that had errors.
what shall i do to fix this? can anyone help? is this fixable?
i would appreciate it very much if you could help me. thanks........BiTTi
 
by the way the alt + control + arrow key thing doesnt work on my computer. i already tried.
is there anything else?
