Computer Clock runs Hours late...

Stan

Hello

May I please ask for your kind help?

The clock in the lower-right corner of my screen
is constantly running late. I would set the time
to the correct time, and within 24 hours, this clock
would be off [late] by about 5 hours.

What could have caused something like that?
Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you!

Hi

You aren't running Windows XP by any chance?

If so, try this and see if it helps:

1. Start->Run cmd.exe
2. net stop w32time
3. w32tm /unregister [ignore error message]
4. w32tm /unregister
5. w32tm /register
6. net start w32time

Sounds like your CMOS battery is getting weak. Some games also play
havock with the system time.
