computer 'chimes' to indicate incoming email but no message appea.

When I receive an incoming email, the computer 'chimes' just as it should.
But no message is appearing on the screen. Problem just appeared. Did I hit a
wrong key and cause it? AND - how am I going to see your reply????!!! If you
can help, pl call 416 922 2250. Thank you.

You may have a rule that moves a message from your inbox to another folder,
like SPAM.
