Hi All,

Is there any reason to not to disable the Computer browser service on all
machines accept Domain controllers?

Thanks,

Nir B

Depends on what is installed on the machine(s) in question. For example,
Computer Associates ArcServe (backup software) has a dependency on the
computer browser service. You stop/disable the computer browser service and
ArcServe fails to run.

Outside of that, I haven't had any problems turning it off on most
workstations.

Not if they are always on the domain & your DCs are working properly. I
generally do this when I set up new workstations to avoid potential browse
master conflicts, although there are other ways to handle that, too.
