I had two guests on my computer. I was the computer
administrator. When I took the two guests off, by some
reasioning when I turned the computer there were no name
or names came up on the right side of the screen..When I
done a warm boot my name came up as a guest. I had no
control of adding, deleting or changing programs. I
ordered the Windows Update internet pack, Explorer 6
Service Pack that is suppose to clear all ills. Not being
a Computer Admin.What proceedure do I use . I get the MSG
that to have the Computer Admin make any changes I have
tried every thing to load the Up date disk, noluck

Try when no account is switched out using alt-cntrl-del-del
at the Windows Welcome screen to log in with a non-displayed
admin account, or if in Home edition using Adminstrator in an
F8 safe mode boot to log in.
Then either grant your (once admin) account admin once again,
or define a new admin account for your use.
Make your normal use account a limited restricted Users account
and use the admin account when needed such as for update installs.

Quick & Dirty... create a new user account, granting this
user acct full admin privilages, then log out, log in
under the new "admin" acct., then grant access and rights
to any other account, including your original one. Good
Luck.

On starting your machine; press 'F8' and you should then
have access to administrator setting.

[PS change password while in there to stop anyone else
locking you out of your machine.]

Hope this helps.

sure, assuming they can log in with an admin first
(that is the real issue here)
