compressing files

I've selecte the optoin 'compress drive to save disk space' on about 76G of
stuff which includes pdf's, mp3s, movies, applications (uncompressed),
compressed applications.

Some of the folders are already compressed so it's actually compressing less
than 76G.

The hard disk is defragmented, and is a logical disk on a hard disk (Model:
IBM IC35L120AVV207-0)

Why does the process read it has '20days 7 hours remaining'?
