Hi,

I'm searching for the component which contains "compmgmt.msc",
i.e. the part which executes, as soon as I click on computer
management in the control panel. How is the component called?

Thanks
Ulf

Hi,

The main program which launches is called the Microsoft Managemement
Console (located at c:\windows\system32\mmc.exe). This program launches
the Computer Management document (located at
c:\windows\system32\compmgmt.msc). These are called snap-ins or Microsoft
Common Console Document.

To start Computer management, please try this method.

1. Click Start-> Run
2. Type "mmc.exe" and click OK. This opens a window named Comsole1.
3. Click on File -> Add/Remove Snap-in..
4. From the Add/Remove Snap-in window, click "Add..." button.
5. Select Computer Management from the available Snap-ins and Click on
"Add" button.
6. Select Local Computer radio button from Computer Mangement window box
and Click on "Finish" button
7. Click on "Close" button to dismiss the Add Standalone Snap-in window and
then again click on "OK" button in the Add/Remove Snap-in window.
8. You can save this console on the desktop for easier access. (The
document will be saved wifh an *.msc file.

Hope this helps ...... :)
