As Fireworks is to Dreamweaver ???????? is to Front Page. I'm looking for a design software that would be compatiable with Front Page in designing graphics and making hover button as well as hyperlink drop down menus - you know - the menus that drop down when you hover your mouse over a link. Does anyone know?
 
Take a look at Ulead's PhotoImpact XL ... try it out before you buy. If you
have Fireworks that is good also! Look at Netstudio also.
Remember that you don't want to make JAVA hover buttons, though ... only
javascript buttons.
What do you mean by compatible with FrontPage. You can import jpgs and gifs
that are made in any imaging program. This article might shed some light:

Fireworks program - short answer: I don't think so.

However why not use Fireworks - it is not limited to being used just with
DreamWeaver, although obviously Macromedia make their products to work best
together just as MS does with it's "Office" family suite of programs
