Complete PC backup - backup two computers

Running Vista Ultimate. I have two computers at home. First I created a
Complete PC Backup stored at an external harddrive. Vista created a new
folder called “WindowsImageBackupâ€. The day after I created a Complete PC
Backup from another computer at the same external harddrive. When I look at
the external harddrive, I can’t see any changes. There is still only one
folder (WindowsImageBackup) and the date is not changed. I’m not alowed to
browe the folder. Has backup number two overwritten the first backup or are
both backup hidden in the same folder seperated by the computername?
Can I in any way check the Backup without restoring?
When I later take another Complete PC backup, will Vista then overwrite the
first backup?
If I later take a Complete PC Backup using another external harddrive, can I
then those witch Backup to restore or will Vista demand the latest?

Not used the back up system, but can you not create a folder for each PC on
the external drive (e.g. \pc1 and \pc2) and direct the back up system on
each PC to place its folder in one of them.

I said I hadn't used it; but it sounded like a good idea. What about
setting up two partitions on the external hard drive and directing the
backups to one of those each?
