I have recently taken over hardware and software from a former employee. I
have acquired Office Pro 2002. The Access software has the "Make MDE file"
option disabled. Is the software not correctly installed or is there some
other barrier?

have acquired Office Pro 2002. The Access software has the "Make MDE file"
option disabled. Is the software not correctly installed or is there some
other barrier?

There are other barriers, some obscure. The first thing to try is to
convert the database from the default A2000 format to Access 2002
format; use Tools... Convert on the menu prior to creating the MDE;
Access 2002 can only convert 2002 format to MDE.

It's also necessary to open the VBA editor and use Debug... Compile
and correct any and all compilation errors.
