Compile error on open

We have a user who has experienced this error in excel 97 running on windows
XP Professional.
This error popped up 4 times when Open or close any excel file.
“Compile error in hidden module NT Reg Code.â€
When I stepped into it, I saw: “Micro Error at Cell:
[AutoSave.xla]AutoSave:B202â€, and same message with other cells.

When I tried to open excel in safe mode, I got: “afe.xls cannot be foundâ€,
then excel opens in safe mode.
I went in under Tools, Add-in, AutoSave, and uncheck it, but it wouldn’t let
me save the change.

This user has been playing around try to setup auto save macro, then got in
this trouble.
I have reinstalled the excel, but nothing worked.

And one more thing, when I tried to run Excel.exe /RegServer, I got “object
library stdole2.tlb is missing or damaged. Run setup to install.â€
After replaced the .tlb, the Regsvr32 \windows\system32\stdole2.tlb command
did not register the file. It said “failed, file couldn’t find.â€

So I am confused with all these errors. Please help!

I just got the issue resolved by disable the autoSave add-in in normal mode,
instead of safe mode.
Open any excel file,
click Ok on all the hidden module errors,
From menu Tools, Add-Ins..., uncheck AutoSave,
Back out.
