Compatibility of Game Controller with XP

I am attempting to install the Game Controller Software
(version 3.0) for a Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback
Pro Game Controller onto a new Dell PC with Windows XP.
At the beginning the installation, I get a message
stating that the controller software is not compatible
with the version of windows I am running.

Is is possible to run the Microsoft SideWinder Force
Feedback Pro Game Controller with Windows XP? Please
advise if there are any driver updates that make this
possible.

Hello

Their is no software that will work but give this a try.

1. Connect the device to the gameport
2. Start -> Run -> Control Panel
3. Switch to "Classic View".
4. Run the Gaming Options control
5. In Gaming Options Click the "Add..." button.
6. From the list choose "Microsoft SideWinder (Auto Detect)"
7. This should install your device
