Comparison of mail clients

Now this one looks interesting. I will try it out.

Try the latest (last?) test version, I've been using it for a week now, no
unstability at all.
And I've tried all the email clients mentioned here over the last few
weeks, Kaufman Mail Warrior was great, but it crashed numerous times.
Ended up with iScribe, small (light on resources), stable, groups,
templates, filter rules, option for a threaded view and the calender with
reminder feature is great.
One downside (at least for some people), it only handles one account.
Also available for Linux.

Scoffers. I knew they would come out. Tell me, aren't preferences a matter
of what appeals to you? I used to be a Netscape Browser and Mail fanatic
and eventually moved over to IE/OE because it worked better. Until I find
something that works better for me I won't just trash them because others
don't like them.

I have tried all varieties of IE-based browsers, Mozilla browsers, and
Opera.

I have tried Pegasus, Foxmail, Eudora, PocoMail, Sylpheed Claws, and others.

I have tried Xnews, Xananews, Gravity, 40Tude Dialog, MesNews, Agent,
NewsPro, Sophax, and others I can't remember.

In the end I keep coming back to Outlook Express because it suits me fine.
I have not ever been infected by a virus through OE.

You're serious, aren't you?

I really want to like Tbird, as I am looking for a mail client which I
can use in both Windows and Linux, but so far it simply doesn't have
all the features I need.

If you were to choose an IMAP based client (freeware), which would be your
pick?

Keeping in mind the opinions of different posts ,I have downloaded
40tudeDialog and am giving it a try as a Newsreader ,though it is early to
comment ,I am quite satisfied with it.
Keeping OE though for the time being till I get used to it.(40tude)

I would like to use a separate mail client and would like your opinions
regarding the performance of Eudora vs TB.
I would want a client able to handle multiple addresses and good filters for
them and message rules enabling automatic rerouting to diff folders and AV
scanning of both incoming and outgoing mails.
..
Opinions regarding all suitable clients would be welcome.

Thanks

I use TB for IMAP and Eudora for POP. I like them both. TB is much less
feature laden, add-ons and all. Eudora hasn't really developed great leaps
and bounds but V6 is nice and stable on my system. Go to their respective
newsgroups and ask around.

Eudora will do this well. TB requires each account to have its own filters
and it does not do outgoing filters...yet.> scanning of both incoming and
outgoing mails.
