The 5M is built better and heavier, and should cost less (under $400,
anyway). Maybe cheaper on a per-page cost, too.
The 1300 probably will print faster, with newer technologies like
instant-on fuser and much faster CPU. Don't know if they fixed the
image being skewed on the page, an error that many noticed on the 1200.
So it depends on what you want to do. For a single user with relatively
light-duty printing, the 1300 will probably be more to your liking. If
you plan on printing thousands of pages on a regular basis, the 5M is
probably a better choice.
