Compare data in one sheet to another

Hello,

I need a formula that will compare data in column A in sheet 1 with data to
see if it exists in column A on sheet 2 and then put a Y/N indicator (or
True/False) in column B on sheet 1. I need an example formula please...any
help is appreciated!
