Compaq Evo not recognizing Wireless card

Dave

I've got a Netgear MA401 wireless card plugged into my
Compaq notebook. The notebook brings up the Install New
Hardware wizard, but even when I point to the driver
installation CD, the wizard says it can't install the new
hardware.

When I plug the card into my other laptop it gets
recognized right away.

The Microsoft Error code I get is that the device cannot
be started (code 10).

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks a lot,
Dave

Code 10 means that a suitable driver has been found and installed,
but it fails due to some problem.
Usually a driver writes a message in the event log so you acan know what
exactly is the problem.

OK...where can I find the log?

Also, in the Device Manager I'm getting some exclamation
points on the Netgear Card, the IrDA Protocol & the
mdmxsdk...could these be potential IRQ conflicts?

Thanks,
Dave

In Help and support... or Start, Run, type EVENTVWR click OK.
Go to System log.

May be. Please post the eventlog messages if there're any.
