compacting emails

after i have compacted my emails i cannot read the attachments. how can i ?
or can i stop outlook from compacting my emails without having to cancal
everytime the box pops up

If you're having problems with Outlook, you're likely to get better answers
in one of the newsgroups intended for Outlook, such as:

microsoft.public.outlook.general

It's often a good idea there to mention what version of Outlook you
have (such as 2003) and what version of Windows you have (such
as Vista), in case it matters.

In Windows Mail compacting does nothing to attachments. I don't know about
Outlook. You'll get more knowledgeable help for Outlook in an Outlook
