Compact & Repair Problems

Jacquie

We have a massive database which we tried to compact and
repair in Access 2003. Every time we do so, at the half-
way point, we get an "Access has encountered a problem and
needs to close. Please tell Microsoft about this problem."
If we compact and repair in Access 2000, it does what it
needs to do, opens up the repaired database, but the
compacting indicator remains at the bottom at the half-way
point. We also get errors when we try to copy or convert
the database.

The database works fine, but I sure am wary about working
in a database that cannot be compacted and repaired. Any
ideas? Thanks!!

I'd agree about being wary. Another thing to try is JetComp but more
likely importing into a new MDB.
