Well my view on that is the computer is a tool, not a toy. If you can't take
the time to learn to use the tool correctly, which means learning to secure
and maintain it, then you have no business owning a computer. If you need to
use one goto the library or local coffee/computer shop. I am for, and have
been for years, people having to take, and pass, a test about computers
before they are even allowed to buy one. Maintenance is part of owning a
computer, learn to do it or don't own one. And believe it or not I have my
own computer tech support business. I fix peoples computers who don't know
what there doing all day long. My goal is to put myself out of the software
support business. Sure you'll always need to help people with hardware
issues/repairs/upgrades, but maintenance and security is the responsibility
of the user, imo. I would much rather educate people on how to maintain and
secure their computer than make money off their ignorance.
