Communications options missing from "Add/Remove" Windows Components"

I recall o previous post about an obscure file that controlled which
items appeared on the "Add/Remove Windows Components" menus, but have
not been able to find it. There is a Phone Dialer installed on my
system and I cannot remove it because that option is missing from the
accessories menu.

Maybe this:

C:\Windows\inf\sysoc

inf is a hidden folder, so you will have to change your settings to make it
visible.
