Communicating between computers on a LAN on XP Pro

I recently installed WinXP on 2 of the computers on my LAN. A third already
had XP. As I was installing XP I saw something talking about XP providing
an easy way to communicate between 2 computers on a LAN using some feature
of XP. Unfortunately, I cannot find that now. Could somebody point me in
the right direction? Thanks.

It was probably something to do with Windows Messenger.
