Comments are affecting margins in entire document

I have an 8 page document with normal default margins. It is an instruction
manual with addendums attached for examples. The examples have comments
inserted, which changed the margins. I created these examples separately in
Word. When I combined them into one document, the margin formatting for the
first 8 pages reduced as if to accomodate comments. How do I separate the two
formats in one document. I want the first 8 pages to be in the default margin
settings. Right now I have to print out the main document and then the
examples and assemble them together. But I want to print the whole thing in
pdf so I need to combine them first.
