comment balloons missing

Comment balloons are missing...I see the indication of comments(colored
brakets) in the main contents...and I am also able to see comments when
"reviewing pane" in displayed...but I can't turn on balloons.

This might have happened when I was resizing the table width. I don't know
for sure.

Could anyone help with this? Thank you!

Which Word version are you using? How did you try to show the balloons?

It's Word 2002 SP3. Comment balloon were gone after the file came back from
someone's editing. Now I only see the comment in review pane setting.

Click Tools | Options. On the Track Changes tab, make sure to check the "Use
balloons in Print and Web Layout" option.

It is checked...I've tried uncheck and check...still the same. Thanks.

On the Security tab of Tools | Options, make sure that "Make hidden markup
visible when opening or saving" is checked. Does that help at all?

Unfortunately, I don't have Word 2002 installed, so I can't be more specific
than that...
