command prompt wont work!

ok when i go to
start
programs
accessories
command prompt

i get this
c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory request was completed.
any body know what i need to do to get this working?

How old is the game, how old is the drive, etc? Does this only happen for
one game or all?

I wasnt trying to play a game. I was trying to check pings, and the tracer thingy. Thanks for any help.

Well i dont know if winpatrol was the problem or not but uninstalled it and my command prompt works now
