After you use CMD.EXE, type CD\ and hit Enter to put you in the Root
directory.
Then try your Dos program.
Most of the older Dos programs will run just fine.

CMD.EXE works ok but when i try to run my program i get the ...is not a
valid win32 application. the same program works on the other 2 xp systems
but not mine. I can run command.com on the other 2 systems(looks like
cmd.exe), but not mine
note cmd says microsoft windows xp and shows a "dos prompt" with long
filenames and command.com says microsoft windows dos and shows a "dos
prompt" but with 8.3 filename abbreviations, so there is a difference.
I went to microsoft support (kb314106) and it said something about ntvdm
subsystem, checked config.nt and autoexec.nt, but I wasn't sure about the
"examine the ntvdm system files" part, it says to make sure they are the
correct version by checking the time and date but what time and date should
they be??
