Hello,

I found MS Knowledge base article 812269 as I am having the problem with
drop down boxes. It states there is a fix but MS doesn't make it available
as a download (???). Apparently I need this file:

Does anyone know how I can get this? I called Dell (as the MS site directs
you to do), but they were clueless. Thanks.

Hi

You need to call Microsoft Product Support Services and not Dell to
obtain it (outside the US, customers should contact their local Microsoft
subsidiary.). The support call will be free as long as you refer to the
Knowledge Base Article number (812269) and ask for nothing more.

The current version is 5.82.2600.1106. You can call Microsoft
and explain your situation. They normally will email you a URL
to download the updated module. It will be zipped and password
protected (Changed weekly). These updates are not fully tested
and aren't available except for users with problems that the patch
addresses.Unfortunately, the number to call is not a Toll-Free so
it's going to cost you to obtain the fix.
There is also a website that has DLL's for download. But I would
only trust Microsoft for a system component like Comctl32.dll.
