comcast.net email account in Outlook 2003.

I am trying to be able to send/receive my comcast.net email account in
Outlook 2003. I used all the instructions provided by comcast. I connect to
the server but get no response from the server and "fail" all the connection
tests.

I'm dense in this stuff, so please explain what I need to do like I'm a
second grader...and not a very bright one at that...Thanks _ Bill

Hi Dianne,

I do establish the network connection, but "Find outgoing mail server",
"Find incoming mail server", "Log onto incoming mail server" and "send test
e-mail message" all fail, the latter being the first to fail. All the fail
error messages are similar. I've copied one below:

"Find incoming mail server (POP3): Outlook could not connect to the
incoming mail server (POP3). The problem could be the server name or port,
or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in
More Settings under the Advanced tab."

I checked everything in "More Settings" and they are consistent with what I
believe they are supposed to be. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.

I too am experiencing this very problem. I can send from home but not when
using my laptop on the road. All messages get held hostage in my outbox. I
have been trying to resolve this with both Comcast & the Outlook site for
over a month!
