Combo Box vs List Box

I would like something in between the features of a Combo Box and a List Box.

Is there a way to change the box to do:
1) List box will show a small number of items to be selected. It has an
expanded view vs the combo box. I would like something like the combo box
with the expanded view of items, and the ability to type in something close
to the items in the table (which the combo box is based on).

Any one has any suggestions?
