Combo box and protected worksheet

I have a spreadsheet with 2 worksheets. Worksheet1 has a combo box tha
retrieves its value from Worksheet2. Both worksheets are protected.

I want users to be able to select a value in the combo box. Currently
the user can do this, but a message appears saying the worksheet i
protected.

I am using Excel 2000.

Does anyone know how I can do this

Hi there;

You probably retrieve info from protected cells and your combobox cannot
cope with that.
In my view there is no other way then unlocking these cells.

Also take a look at the options you have when protecting a worksheet.

Is the linked cell unlocked? (Format>Cells, Protection tab)

I have tried it with the linked cells both locked and unlocked. Stil
no change
