Hello,
I just upgraded my modem drivers. The modem was initially assigned to COM3
but after upgrading its drivers, it was reallocated to COM4. I was curious
and attempted to move it back to COM3 and found that COM3 was 'in use' by
other devices, and wasnt listed in Device Manager. How can I free up COM3 ?
and How do I check which device is using COM3 ?

Thanx in advance

Regards

Com3 is probably reserved now for the old instance of the modem, which
although it's not there any more, the system thinks it may be coming back.

Does it work on Com4? If it does, just leave it there.

Hello, thanx for you input, I've fixed the problem by forcibly reassigning
it back to COM3. I've got better throughput now. Thanx
