column text

I have merged 10 colums in the B section and I need to put text in this
box that relates to the A column but when i merge cells B3 to B 10 the
text drops down to the bottom. I need to be able to fit enough text
into the box how do I get teh cursor to start at the top of the box.
 
Change the Format of the merged cell so that the vertical alignment is 'Top'
rather than 'Bottom'.
