do I change back to A,B,C,D,.....

How did this happen to start with.

Thanks

Dave,

Your Standard Font setting got set to Symbol. What you are
seeing are the Greek letters for A, B, C, etc. Go to the Tools
menu, choose Options, then the General tab. There, change
Standard Font back to Arial, and restart Excel.

Perhaps someone changed the default font in Tools>Options>General.

Check to see what you have there. I keep mine at Arial 10 point.

Failing that, it would probably be a Windows OS problem with Fonts. The
Marlett.ttf font file could be corrupt.

If this is the case, use SFC to replace it.

See Windows Help for how to use SFC(System File Checker) with your particular
version of Windows.
