Colour Palette variations

In Word 97 - opened a document created in Word XP and did not change any
titles, when XP reopens the same document the titles have changed colour.
Apparently this is because XP has a larger colour palette for fonts. Can you
tell me if setting the save to only save using features available in Word 97
will solve the problem or if there is another solution?

There isn't any real solution. There is, as you note, a limited colour
palette in Word 97 and colours not in it are changed to the closest match
when documents are opened in Word 97. If those documents are saved, the
colour changes are saved too.

I haven't tried it but the 'best' you're likely to get by saving with use
only features available in Word 97 is the colour change when you save
instead of later, and taking effect even without using Word 97 at all.
