Colour of 'followed hyperlink' not appearing

This is odd. When I run my presentation, the colour I chose for my 'followed
hyperlink' doesn't work. However, when I go back to edit mode, it updates
hyperlink on the slide with the 'followed hyperlink' colour that I chose. The
original presenation was in PPT 2003 which it worked fine in. I wonder if
that has anything to do with it?
