Colour coding fields

Hi

I have a drop down menu which contains three selections. Dependant on which
selection is chosen, I would like to colour code the field background.

Is this possible, and what is the best way to do this please?

Yes its possible though probably not advisable.
Depending on the selection set the background colour attribute to be what
you want. You will also need (in the 'current' event) to set the background
colour whenever you position to a new row.
When you create a new row, you will have to cater for the fact there is no
selection yet made.
