recently, I was trying out "Window Blinds", a desktop theme manager. I didn't
like the way it was working on my system, so I removed it. In doing so, my
"theme" went to ALL BLACK! Now, when I click on "Start", all I can see is the
icons. Black background, black menus, black workspace in an app, etc. I
cannot change this because I cannot see it (black on black).

How the hell can I get this to change? I have multiple Admin logins on the
box. I've looked around at .ini files, haven't seen anything that would allow
me to change it. Looked in the registry, wasn't sure, didn't mess with
anything relating to the desktop, taskbar, etc.

Using display properties reset the theme to Windows XP.

you don't get it. everything is black. you cannot see anything in that
login. i need to be able to reset the colors/theme from a different login for
that login. you can't see ANYTHING but icons. everything else is black. the
menus, the background, etc.

Hmm... Nope, I didn't get it... How about reinstalling WindowBlinds from
another account or using restore? If worse comes to worse then try their
support and forums.

You can see in the other user accounts, right? If so, open the Group Policy Editor in one of those and under:

User Config -> Admin Templates -> Control Panel -> Desktop Themes

Use the "Load a specific visual style or force Windows Classic" option.

That should allow you to log back in to the affected account and see enough to do some repair work.

Alternatively, you could use one of the working accounts to place a shortcut to:

%SystemRoot%\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles

in the startup folder of the affected account. That will launch the display properties dialog with the default XP style selected. Even though you can't see it, it will be waiting for an 'OK' so just press the <enter> key.
