Colors and alphabetical order

Ok, I am getting pretty frustrated with something that seems like it should
be so simple. Can anyone help me??? Here is what I am trying to do in Excel.
I have a spreadsheet that is about 1100 rows long and about 14 colums wide.
I have all my information entered into the colums (it is names, address,
phone numbers, exc. ) I want to sort this by customer name but when I go to
alphabitize it by customr name it alphabitizes that column only but then all
my address and phone numbers are not correct it does not pull the rest of the
information and keep it all together. How can I alphabitize by customer name
have the address and phone number to that customer moved with it when it
alphabitizes?

Are you selecting (hilighting) all of the data you want sorted? You should
just need to select all of your data then do a 'data'....'sort' and sort by
the name column, all the other data should get pulled along into the proper
place.

Do not let Excel guess at the range to be sorted.

Select all columns then do the Data>Sort on the customer name column.

The data will stay together.

By the way..........what does "colors" have to do with this?

I was wondering the same thing about colors, perhaps the cells have a color
fill and she wants that color fill to follow with the sort?

I am sorry, the color thing really has nothing to do with this.... I was
trying to alternate each row between 2 colors. I posted another thred about
that and figured it out. But I will try this for the alphbetical order.
Thank you so so so so so much for your help!!!
